Dear Boulders Owners,
This message is directed at those who are having their decks repaired/repainted this year.
As you may have noticed, we have fallen several weeks behind where we had planned to be. In between last year, when we did our test decks, and this year, the manufacturer of the primer went out of business. They did not sell their business or their patents. So we’ve been working with a new manufacture to attempt to replicate the primer. Unfortunately it is slightly different and has not been adhering as much as we need.
The contractor has been working with the manufacturer to fix this problem and will be testing this week. As soon as the contractor feels comfortable that the product will adhere properly, he will continue painting decks as planned.
From our experience to date, and the advice of the manufacturer, it is possible that we will have small pockets where the paint bubbles. If that happens, the contractor will return to fix it either later this year or next spring.
In the meantime, the repair crew will continue to work through the remaining decks to make repairs in advance of the painting crew.
We hope that by the end of this week we will have a solution, and will be able to communicate a new schedule for starting the painting on each group of decks.
We appreciate your patience as we work out this issue.
